Catch of the Day
Every fall for the past several years Julie's brother Steve Horrex has come up from San Diego for a visit and break. Steve serves as a missionary with AMOR Ministries and has been with them for 26 years. The larger purpose of the fall trip is FISHING!!!!!! We always have a great time visiting, laughing, and of course catching and releasing fish. We do take a few fish home and Steve always fills his cooler for the flight back home.
I always appreciate the many stories Steve shares as to how God is working and leading with AMOR. One of the things Steve shared this year was how 3 universities have offered to work with AMOR Ministries with the goal of studying the housing models they are using to see if there can be any improvements made. All this at N/C. This is very timely as AMOR was approached by persons in South Africa and has expanded their missions projects and outreach into S. Africa. If you are interested check out their website at http://www.amor.org/ You should also checkout www.simplyscot.blogspot.com shown on the website.

Autumn Escape
I know that I haven't blogged for some time. I guess I'm just a little slow getting on the blogging bandwagon. Have patience I'm sure that I will get there eventually. I still need to figure out how to add pictures, maybe I'll get that down for my next entry.
Anyway, I have spent the last week on a Autumn Retreat. What a blessing it has been to spend a whole week and just read, rest and rejuvinate. Bert has kept our home running smoothly and all I have had to do is look after myself. It has been a wonderful week and now I feel like I'm ready to get back at it. I'll be getting ready for Thanksgiving when I get home. This year on the Sunday after our family will be a team walking for Autism Awareness and Fundraising. May be this will be the start of more charity activities. I think that would be great.
Now that the maternity leaves are winding up there is less time for our quilting club. The girls aren't ready to let it go thankfully so now instead of once a week, we will meeting once a month. Soon I will be posting pictures of their amazing quilts. What wonderfully talented ladies we have in our family.

Quilting
I've been thrilled lately by all my daughters. They have all decided that they wanted to make quilts. So, on Monday mornings they have been arriving at our house with fabric, kids, creative juices and available husbands in tow so that we can work together on our quilts. It has been so fun to watch them decide on, and then tackle their various projects. It has also been heartwarming to see their husbands step in and look after the needs of the children so that the ladies can work. I am so blessed by everything that is going on around me that when the house quiets down again (usually after dinner) I can't help but smile thinking about the day and all that was accomplished.
